General Duty Assistant
Job Description
- General Duty Assistant are also known as “Nursing Care Assistant”, “Nursing Assistant”, “Nursing Aide”, “Bedside Assistant” or “Orderlie” when working in a hospital environment.
- Individual on the job provides patient care and help maintain a suitable environment.
- Some of the key responsibilities of the General Duty Assistant are to provide patient’s daily care, patient’s comfort, patient’s safety and patient’s health needs.

Key Training Outcomes
- Work as a basic healthcare provider
- Ability to perform clinical skills essential in providing basic healthcare services
- Practice infection control measures and use techniques to maintain the personal hygiene needs of a patient
- Promote safety, understand usage of protective devices and demonstrate precautions to be taken while usage of Oxygen
- Demonstrate professional behavior, personal qualities and characteristics of a
- General Duty Assistant
- Follow right methods of bio medical waste management
- Basic Life Support, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and other actions in the event of medical and facility emergencies
- Good communication skill , communicate accurately and appropriately in the role of General Duty Assistant and demonstrate professional appearance and demeanor

Course Details
- TOTAL : 400 HOURS ( 2.5 MONTHS)
- CLASS ROOM :100 HOURS
- PRACTICAL : 140 HOURS
- ON JOB TRAINING: 180 HOURS
